Funded by the Canadian Space Agency, research shows that astronauts have reduced immunity while in space.After monitoring 14 astronauts aboard the ISS — and taking blood samples before, during and after respective missions — it was shown that gene expressions changed in the astronauts and ultimately weakened the immune system when exposed to zero-gravity.
